[TRANSLATED] Unsolvable Problem

Multinationals’ investments in China have already become a pillar supporting the stable growth of China’s economic and social aspects. Aligning such ‘low public costs’ strategy with China’s environmental strategy and systems sounds good on the surface but faces huge problems in execution. In imposing restrictions, the costs will increase and investments will fall; China’s economy will be affected, resulting in social problems.

How can it be improved?

Even we know the responsibility of the multinational corporations and the flaw of the international community, what can we do? Will these arrangements be improved by themselves?

To be vigilant

Thanks to Mr. Tang's comment, we can get a better understanding about the environmental cost included in the increased number of our GDP, which was ignored by the local officials. Obviously, we still have a long way to go to get the same achievements as developed countries have done. It is hard to imagine we even do not have courses on environmental protection in basic educational system, which has a closest link to a country's future. Maybe the multinational corporates are cheerful on Chinese people's lack of foresight, thus we should be vigilant at their applause on our economical increase.
