Poverty and Climate Change

The science seems to be more conclusive each day that climate change is being driven by human activity. However, the most frightening point, as provided by the author of this post, is that most predictions are likely too lenient--climate change is happening faster and will have greater impacts than predicted.
Poverty, wealth and climate change are inextricably linked. It is impossible to solve climate change without addressing world poverty and the mechanisms that maintain poor living environments for billions of people. It is essential that the developed world not approach climate change solutions from a "protectionist" perspective and embrace the opportunity to change the status quo and improve the quality of living for billions of poor communities around the world.
