Bogota's experience should be a wake-up call for China

Cities in China are built with the interests of these groups in mind - cars first, bikes second and people last. Very sad. For example, intersections at major junctions in Beijing can take about 10 minutes for the able-bodied to negotiate and even longer if you are disabled or over 60. Unfortunately, it is difficult to dampen the peoples' consumer desires - (remember that Chinese people have only recently had purchasing power) - especially when Chinese women almost demand their husbands / boyfriends to be mobile in order to be eligible for dating.
