The article gives the root cause, to many chasing production beyond resilience, of land and 'Gaia' ability to deal with waste in a manner suited to human needs. Reduce population not just in China for she is not the only one whose fragile environment is stressed but the world over.
How? The population rate of increase is declining. Why? Enhance the factors causing this. But that means a wide generosity of spirit rarely seen and fear will not help. Politically unsaleable! So roll on the deserts!
