Record low temperatures and the worst sea ice in 30 years have caused huge losses to sea-farmers and fishermen in coastal Shandong and Liaoning provinces, China Daily reported.
Japan will ask China to conduct joint studies of the massive encroachment of giant Nomura’s jellyfish off China, Kyodo News said. A similar request has been made to South Korea. The jellyfish wreak havoc with the Japanese fishing industry.
