Bush “distorted” climate change reports
The Bush administration has routinely suppressed and distorted communication of climate change science to the public, said a climate specialist at Nasa’s Goddard Institute on Tuesday.
In one instance of political interference described by Nasa specialist, Drew Shindell, a press release he drafted in 2004 about global warming in Antarctica was “repeatedly delayed, altered and watered down” by Nasa headquarters.
Rick Piltz, a former government official who edited reports on climate change, said he resigned from his post in 2005 in protest against the Bush administration impeding communication on climate science and its implications.
