A deed is easy to get criticism but few constructive suggestions with feasibility. Chinese readers, in my view, has been tired of everything that gets only comment but nothing else. All is an empty talk without workable suggestion. The US still rejects the Kyoto Protocol to this day, and this shows that developed countries themselves take not a good lead. I don't think a substantial change in american attitude toward this will occur after Obama's coming into power. Instead, the US will install a technological system for international energy consumption and environmental protection that centers around its own interests. This set of technology is for money but not a concession corresponding with the common interests of the mankind as a whole. American might even shirk its due obligations.

Recent economic development in China will entail increasing CO2 emissions. If the 1% share from developed countries is to be realised, China must collaborate with more developing countries and act on energy saving and emissions reduction, not just talk about it.

I think China, as well as the US, has its own way of dealing with climate while the world is kicking the ball of responsibility. A perfect post-Kyoto treaty seems unlikely, and the best we can say is that we're on the way -- hope it won't be too late to reach the destination.

Obama is getting an earful...!
Obama is getting an earful from many sources, I would think!
As Peak Oil expert Julian Darley wrote recently:
"...There are at least two groups of people who have known and worried about peak oil for a long time - the CIA and the US military. So, perhaps Obama will start getting frequent prods to delve into the complex supply-side of energy, not just the sink-side of carbon emissions." read more here: http://postcarbon.org/obamas-secret-door-to-peak-oil
Maybe Al Gore is willing to go to Poland? He describes his 10 year challenge in this article in Mother Jones:
"I challenge our nation to commit to producing 100 percent of our electricity from renewable energy and truly clean carbon-free sources within 10 years." read more here:
