Xi Jinping has decided to give it a miss, but what does China want out of next week's climate summit in New York? How committed is Beijing to the international climate change process? And what is it likely to agree to -- and resist -- in negotiations for a global deal in Paris next year?

Join us for a live Twitter Q&A with Wang Tao of the Carnegie-Tsinghua Center for Global Policy to discuss all this and more on Tuesday 16 September at 9am EDT (9pm Beijing time).

Wang Tao is an expert on climate and energy issues. He runs a programme at the Carnegie–Tsinghua Center for Global Policy that examines China’s climate and energy policies, with particular attention to transportation and international climate negotiation.

China and EU

In Europe a new president of the commission is coming from Poland a country used to output coal as China. Are we allowed to presume that China EU and Australia an other major coal miner and fatherland of climate deniers are going to ally to make still any compulsory gap next week at the New York's at the extra UN conference?
